HOSTING
-
Hosting can be as involved or low key as you'd like. It would entail letting no more than a few jubilant and sweaty cyclists sleep on your floor, use your shower, and hopefully share a meal. If you want to hang out and share stories, awesome! If your schedule is tight, we're equally as happy keeping to ourselves. We have our own sleeping pads and sleeping bags, so couch or bed space is not needed. We usually arrive in the afternoon (between 2 and 6pm, depending on the day's mileage) and leave early the next morning. We'd love for you to provide dinner (we can help in the kitchen!) and hook us up with some cereal in the morning.
-
Just shoot a quick email to codyridesagain@gmail.com. We'll work out the details from there!
-
Usually just one night, possibly two nights. Bike touring is full of unexpected surprises though, and therefore it is possible that the trip could arrive a day or two behind schedule. We’ll be in contact with you as soon as it appears our schedule may have changed.
-
Almost certainly no more than three people, and very possible just Cody. If the group expands beyond that size we’ll have a conversation and you are welcome to gracefully bow out of service.
-
As much as you'd like it to be. We're content to set up tents in your backyard if you're out of town, but would love to talk over dinner with you. Maybe two hours in the evening and likely none in the morning, since we'll likely be awake long before you'll want to be!
-
So many other possibilities! You could join for a ride, send a care package, recommend a host for us (if you know anyone in the 30+ places we're stopping), or donate to the trip supplies or one of the Cody’s preferred nonprofits.
-
Not at all! Just email us their name and anything else you remember about that person, and we'll find away to get in touch. Seriously, we'd love to stay with your cousin's high school teacher's nephew in northern California.
JOIN THE RIDE
-
Yes!! You can and absolutely should come join me on my adventure.
-
Of course! Any amount of time you’re able to spend on the road is unbelievably generous and genuinely appreciated. If you want to ride for half a mile in your town, a day-and-a-half, or want to join me for the whole thing: I’d love the company!
-
Yes, 100%. It you’re game to join up than that means that you’re almost certainly my type of people and we’ll have a great time. Plus, as a general rule: the more the merrier! Riding in groups is more fun, often safer, and much easier than suffering though the wind and hills all by your lonesome self.
-
Sure! You can meet up with me on a rest day or intercept the route a couple times via car. Let me know where/when you could join and we’ll work something out.
-
Send me an email at codyridesagain@gmail.com and let’s talk! I want this to be a big fun thing for lots of people, so let’s make it happen!
